Terrible Things is an alternative rock supergroup composed of former members of the bands Hot Rod Circuit, Taking Back Sunday, and Coheed and Cambria.[1] The group was formed in 2009 by founding members Andy Jackson and Fred Mascherino, and released its debut self-titled album on August 31, 2010.
The band's debut album was produced by Jason Elgin and centered around an outbreak of arson events in member Fred Mascherino's birthplace, Coatesville, Pennsylvania.[1] The album was released on Universal Records and debuted at #25 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.[2]
In 2010, Brian Weaver has joined the band as their bassist. The band was without a bassist before (except for Silvetide bassist Steve Lucarelli rehearsing with the band in its early days), and all bass tracks for their debut album were recorded by Lynam vocalist and guitarist Jacob Bunton.
On November 17, 2010, it was announced that the band will be touring as part of the Vans Warped Tour in the summer of 2011.[3] In January 2011, the band toured as a support act to Bayside, along with The Sleeping.[4]
On February 10, 2011, it was announced that Andy Jackson's former band Hot Rod Circuit will be reuniting for a one-off performance at the Krazy Fest in Louisville, Kentucky, with future plans uncertain.[5] On April 20, 2011, Andy Jackson announced that he had left the band which led many to believe that Hot Rod Circuit will be reuniting full-time.[6] The band toured throughout the 2011 Warped Tour dates as a three-piece, with Fred Mascherino handling all vocals and guitar duties.
On November 16, 2011 it was announced that Josh Eppard has rejoined Coheed and Cambria.[7] Josh confirmed through twitter that his "...time in Terrible Things has come to an end."
